Finding my place

So I've settled into North Rocks now. I'm living with Peter, Mary & Sue Mason. Got my own room with more storage than I've ever had before! Finding my way around Sydney more, usually by trial and error and trying to find my place here in this massive metropolis. Thinking about taking up outdoor soccer and maybe dancing of some sort. Will be starting at Gloria Jeans this week after my induction on Wednesday. In the meantime, I've been doing a bit of painting for cash and doing a fair bit of study. I went climbing at Mt York, Mt Victoria with Daniel & Miles this weekend. That was so fun, can't wait to go again. Its great to be doing things I've been keen to do, and climbing gives you a good sense of accomplishment, when you get to the top.

It has been more challenging than I thought finding my place in Sydney, not just a geographical area, but finding friends. Coming from living in Mudgee for the last 14 or so years, and having a good group of friends, its a big change to start again. I'm expecting it to get easier when I'm in a routine of work and sport and making friends around that. Its just that I've been in Sydney a month now, and everything is taking longer to get sorted than I like, testing my patience, but God probably has a hand in it for a reason. I'll trust him.

Melbourne to Mudgee in a day

So to really kick off my year with Forge, I went to their national summit in Melbourne. It was intense, the stories shared were amazing and the teaching was great, but I'm so glad its over, so I can let all the information sink in now and begin a story of my own. I've decided to head back to Mudgee town for a few days to pack up the last of my stuff to take to North Rocks so I can settle in there. I'm looking forward to seeing my family and friends again too.

I saw Grandma while in Melbourne which was great, and checked out a bit of the Moomba festival on the Yarra. The weather in sydney is much nicer! Get back into summer clothes now!

In Sydney Now!

So I've been living in limbo for the last 10 days, staying with friends in Killara, looking for work and permanent accommodation. I knew God would provide and was just waiting for him, but was hoping He'd sort things out sooner rather than later! Well yesterday he put pretty much everything in place for me. Found a place to live with a nice family in North Rocks and work is opening up for me at Gloria Jeans in Epping! Thank you God, you're a legend.

Tomorrow I'm heading to Melbourne for the first Forge conference, and I'll visit my Grandma while I'm there. Looking forward to it. Life is just one big adventure!
